Just came back from a couple days for some R&R at our family cabin up in the Cariboo. On the last day, I was woken up by the early morning sunlight just peering in our window just to look outside and see the lake covered in beautiful fluffy fog. It created the dreamy-est thing I've ever seen with the sun not quite up, the natural pastel colours were so delicious, I had to fight the urge to go back, I didn't want to miss this! When the sun finally poked up over the horizon, it almost had a mirage effect on the fog blocking out the background, making it look like I was somewhere in the Arctic, very cool to see in person.

We also had the pleasure of going snowmobiling for the first time with the very nice couple, Vance & Deb, who own Sheridan Lake B&B right across our street. Their brand new house is right on the lakefront with gorgeous views and all the comforts and privacy of home. It's a great getaway any time of year.

The trails were winding in and out of the forest and apparently go for about 300kms if you really want to make a trek out of it. They had a heavy wind storm a few days before so chainsaws were required to clear the path from time to time. We had a great time and who knew this warm-weather-loving girl would have a great time in the snow!

AAAaannnnnd the dog who would rather be catching snowballs than waiting for me to take his picture. Yes, can't forget about the dog!

BC Interior I Vancouver Photography

A few times a year we get a chance to head up to the interior of BC for a little rest and relaxation at our family cabin in 100 Mile House. For those of you who don't know where that is, it's about a 5 hour drive up the Canyon Road which is the old gold miner's trail from way back at the beginning of the century. You'll pass amazing mountain vistas and tons of waterfalls. In the winter, the waterfalls freeze over to make the most interesting ice formation on the rocks, really quite something if you can find a spot to pull over and view the ice. Once you're through the mountains, you enter a semi-desert area called Cache Creek and then head into the flat lands of the interior with rolling soft hills and field side lakes. In the summer the deer are everywhere and a real treat to photograph, especially when you find a buck with the velvet still on his antlers.

Jason always tries to get me up there in the wintertime as his favourite thing to do is ice skate on a natural frozen lake. Now, let me be clear, it's not like down here where the temp only goes to about -5, no no, up there it can get to -30 below and believe me it's COLD! Good thing about it is you can bundle up and stay warm unlike down here where the cold air is so damp, it goes through no matter how many layers you have on.

Despite all of that, each season has something different to offer and I'd love to offer a photo session up there one of these days to shoot in such a divers setting and have some fun.

The Aspens are bright and golden in the fall, sticking out from amongst the evergreens. A nice day-trip is up to Mahood Falls where you can hike right up on the base of the waterfall and look over the edge. This image only shows about 3/4 of the fall so it's much higher than it looks.

You finish the day with limitless star-gazing as there is no "light pollution" from city lights so the stars are VERY clear. We even saw the Northern Lights this one evening with a timed exposure, unfortunately too weak to see with the naked eye but sometimes in the winter they are bright enough to see them clearly this far south.

Our very nice neighbors across the way recently opened up a luxurious B&B with bed-side views of the Lake and delicious eats. You have your own private entrance, kitchen, fireplace, deck and bathroom. Check out their site for a cozy winter getaway here.

Another beautiful sunny day in July for Anthony and Erica's wedding. Talk about my kind of girls, these girls were head to toe in all things pretty and sparkly! The boys looked rather dapper in their suits and everyone was a great sport to put up with the heat for a little photo time in the sun. Long veils are one of my favourite things to work with as they offer so much possibility to create images with texture and add another dimension to the overall look. Erica's was a beautiful pleated-rim cathedral veil and I couldn't get enough of it!

Both of them were very gracious as we had to change outfits after the photoshoot due to our lovely feathered friends giving us an unexpected gift from the sky, we won't show those pics but all I can say is Jason and I were doused in water to clean off, better us than the bride and groom. Tip for all you photogs out there, it's always a good idea to have a back-up outfit in the car as you never know when you might need it!

Lana reminds me a lot of myself in that she grew up with a dad who loves old cars and that they were a huge part of our lives growing up. Even for Lana & Mike's engagement, we shot part of it in one of her dad's old cars which was such a treat. It almost made me cry when I saw the numerous moments she and her dad had throughout the day, you could certainly tell that they were very close and that this was not only a special day for her and Mike but also for both families. As promised, here we go! The start of a wonderful collection from our 2010 season. A HUGE thank you to all of our brides and grooms for letting us be a part of their very special day. We had so much fun with everyone and certainly have some great memories of some pretty spectacular moments!

We just got home yesterday from the land of sunshine in sunny and VERY hot (like 34 degrees AT NIGHT!!) Arizona staying at the Monte Lucia Resort & Spa. I won't say too much now as there will be a full post later but I couldn't help myself from posting these few of their day. I have battle wounds from this wedding as I was too excited about the images and wasn't looking where I was going and took a slide on some very sharp rocks during the photoshoot at the red rocks. Thankfully, it was nothing serious but it certainly gave me a red backside! (I'd do it again for you, Rochelle!)

Rochelle & Gino, Jason and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for including us and I'm so happy that we got to reconnect from the past few years. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon and enjoy these goodies!

Ivana & Panos were little balls of love on their shoot as Panos had not seen Ivana in a long while having been away in Greece with family. It was such a nice treat to photograph them being together for the first time in months. Both Jason and I went away from the shoot so full of warm fuzzies as we remembered the times we had to spend away from each other when Jason was finishing his Bachelor at UVIC and was gone for a whole 2 months!! That was one of the hardest times away but you remember how good it was to see them again!

Johnny and Carmela had a beautiful wedding, full of purples, sparkles and orchids everywhere! There were many moments during the day when Jason and I just looked at each other as it reminded us of our wedding 6 years ago that weekend. Johnny was so fun to watch, he rarely took his eyes off his stunning bride the entire ceremony. The reception was out at Swan-E-Set in Maple Ridge while all set on a sunlit backdrop overlooking the valley. The parents had a surprise of a smoke machine for the first dance, just to give the special moment an added touch. It was like dancing in the clouds! I know that sounds cheesy but that's exactly what I would image it would look like if we could do that.

Social Media. It is becoming the absolute norm these days and there are so many paths you can take, it can sometimes be daunting. A few years ago, we photographed the ever lovely Sarah and Stephen Jagger. If you're a realtor, then you'll probably recognize his name as he is the creative mind behind Ubertor, the web solution for realtors. Just this past year Stephen, along with his good friend Shane Gibson, collaborated on an informative, almost how-to book which demystifies the diverse world of social media and how to use it to benefit you and your business. I've had my nose buried in it for the past few months as there are so many useful insights and tips that I haven't got very far, stuck on a few chapters, gleaning and soaking it all up!!

Rocky Point I Vancouver Wedding Photography I Rochelle & Gino Engagement

As promised, here is the first of the great engagement sessions we've recently had over the last few months.

I've known Rochelle for a few years now. We met almost 5 years ago when we were both apprenticing with the same photography company. At the time, I was the only female photographer and they were looking for another to add to the team of all guys. From the first day I met Rochelle, she was the sweetest thing, always smiling and just a wonderful person to be around. After branching off to our own company, and Rochelle on her new path, we met up about a year ago on facebook and it was great to reconnect. Rochelle is now a thriving graphics/web designer and super talented! We got to meet her fiance Gino at our first get together and what a great guy, he himself being an artist and performer. Later in the year, we are so honored to be joining them for their destination wedding at the beautiful Monte Lucia Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. I love working with creative people as we find more and more over the years that the couple's personality and style are really what will guide the shoot. They being very creative people were up for anything (which most of our clients are, so great!) and we wound up shooting into the night as the sun dipped behind the mountains and that sweet light came out!! Here are a few my favs from the session.

Sally Asks:

Question #1: How do you get such sharp, crisp images without using a tripod?

- Achieving sharp images can depend on many different aspects apart from the obvious shutter speed. Other elements such as focusing type, gear and your own body movement all play a part in getting that clean shot. When working with still objects, how steady your hands are plays a huge role in how sharp the image is. I actually hold my breath for that split second when I'm pressing down on the shutter button; this helps me to keep my hands steady. Having a fast shutter speed is key as movement is harder to catch when you go lower than 1/60 of a second. You can adjust your aperture or ISO to let more light in so you can give yourself a higher shutter speed to catch the action at the correct exposure.

Another aspect is, are you using the correct type of focusing for what you're trying to capture? There are two types, single focus (the camera focuses and holds that until you hit the button) and continuous or servo focusing (it constantly adjusts as you move your camera). The first is used normally with still objects and the second with anything moving.

Good lenses always help, the higher the quality, the better the glass and sometimes better focusing.

Question #2: Is it always the rule to shoot in RAW?

In my opinion, I wouldn't shoot in anything else when quality is a must. Your camera sensor has what's called a High Dynamic Range or HDR for short. It's basically the level of detail your camera can see in the highlights and the blacks. When you shoot in RAW, your camera retains all of the information in those ranges and can later be manipulated in Photoshop to "bring back" those areas of detail that might appeared to have been "lost". When you shoot in JPEG, you're limited to the information that was captured and so sometimes lose the ability to "bring back" those areas of highlights and blacks in extreme cases. So that is why we shoot in RAW, especially since we deal with a white wedding dress and a black tuxedo!

Millennium Water I Vancouver Photography

Last week while out for a commercial photo shoot, I had the chance to take a side trip and finally step inside the Athlete's Village at Millennium Water in False Creek. I just caught up as the first group of the day went out on the tour, "Avenues of the World". These are nine amazing suites that have been designed and decorated by some of Vancouver's best local and international designers, Chil Design Group, Alda Pereira, BYU Design, The Cross Decor & Design, Inform Interiors, Kodu Design, Ledingham Design, Mitchell Freedland Design & William Switzer.

I grew up with a Dad who loves old cars and what a treat it was when Lana told me that her Dad was the same. Her Dad builds these exquisite old muscle cars from almost scratch and the workmanship that goes into them is amazing! He brought out one of Lana's favs just for her shoot and it was a lot of fun to work with! All the people in the park would stare as they walked by. We even had one little boy who seemed to be so captivated by what we were doing that he started taking pictures of us on his little camera. He'd even come close to inspect the car with it's shiny wheels but quickly run away once we came near, it was very cute!

One of my other loves is dogs. I love watching all of the dog shows and when I was little, I would check out all of the animal books that the library had. It's a lot of fun when our couples bring the other members of their families to the shoots. It just adds another dimension and is so rewarding when you get that perfect shot because you can't exactly tell dogs to "sit, smile and look at the camera" with much accuracy. Jason and Martha own a beautiful one year old Vizsla who just bounded around like a little bunny and was super excited to be at the beach with the family! Sometimes pictures just lend themselves beautifully to the tones of black and white and I just love how much texture and mood there is to these images.

Back in January we asked you what you wanted to know about what we do. Here goes!

Our first two questions came from Habib:

1) For weddings I assume there's multiple shooters for the event, what lens do you use the most for your shots?

I use a Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 for almost everything. I love how you can get right in the action and show the surroundings of the event. I do however change to a Nikkor 100mm macro for jewelry, most detail shots and the odd portrait. Jason loves his Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8, which he shoots on most of the day to catch those unscripted moments in between my shots when the couple are just hanging out or having a private moment, having that lens really helps us stay in the background when we need to. The types of lenses that we use are very much an extension of our vision for the day and the feel of how we want it presented.

2) When you first started, did you had to reach out to other wedding photographers and see if you can tag along as secondary shooter or something like that?

I was very blessed with an amazing beginning to our career. At the time we started, Jason and I were just getting married and as it turned out, the man who did our wedding cake also had a small photography company on the side and when he heard that I was attending school for it, he asked if I wanted to come and apprentice as they were in need of a female shooter. It was a great experience as the people I worked with taught me so much more than they could in school as it gives you real life experience and it's important to see how fast you need to think on your feet for wedding photography because you can't ask people to "back up" and do it again. A few years later, Jason who is a self taught photographer, started to become a large part of the company and now we shoot together for all of our weddings. In wedding photography, it's not necessary to have two shooters but it certainly makes the experience more relaxed and fun for both you and your clients.

The weather is changing and the sun is out past dinner time, yup, summer is on it's way!!! Zahir and Zahra will be tying the knot in only a matter of weeks and it's going to be great! Kudos to them for taking dancing lessons, something I don't think Jason would do but he just might find himself in a dance class sooner than he thinks! One of the new restaurants down on the beach, Deluxe, was also kind enough to let us take some photos in their bright new store, can't wait to eat there for some tasty seafood!

If you've never been to Granville Island before on a weekend, you miss one of the most interesting spots to grab a coffee, sit on the wharf and people watch for an afternoon. There's usually a few street performers that can serenade or you can take a leisurely stroll through the many boutique shops. If you're like me, drawn instinctively to pretty paper and wonderfully shinny things, then you'll be sure to enjoy the window shopping and may just come out a little heavier than when you went in! Joe & Diana met us for the afternoon as we wandered the colourful streets and got to enjoy their company! After a fun and laughter filled session, we're very much looking forward to their June wedding and can't wait to meet the family!

Talk about all of these good looking people! Once again, we're in one of my favourite places, White Rock Beach! with just the slightest change in light, we get a completely different image using the same great place, I love it! When it's just before dusk and the tide is out, there are some amazing pastel colours that come out and fill the sky with soft pinks and creams. I wish I could catch the colours in a jar and out it in my room. I know that sounds cheesy but once you see them, you'd want them too!

Another great thing about being close to the water was that with the slight breeze, Johnny had to keep Carmela warm and Jason caught some very beautiful shots!

Aussies are the best! We met Amanda & Darren a while back and are very much looking forward to their Sunshine Coast wedding up at Rockwater this summer. A lot of Darren's family will be coming from Oz and Amanda's family is from the Prairies so it should be quite the part-tay! Amanda's smile is one of the most contagious. You wouldn't realize that she is a surgeon. We were surprised when we first heard that because from what you see on the TV shows, surgeons can be quite rough and very serious but I think I’d rather have a happy surgeon working on me! And check out that very cute dress she’s wearing, talk about some snappy dressers!

Our first couple of the year is Shiva and Karl. We met them a couple of months ago when Shiva found me by way of the blog of the lovely Leanne Pedersen. After meeting with them and hearing all about the planned for the big day, we can't wait to get the season started! Their beautiful wedding will be held at the gorgeous Sutton Place Hotel

White Rock beach is one of my favourite places to go. Jason grew up in that town and I hope we'll one day move back there as I absolutely love being by the water! The tiny districts are full of cute little shops and a very welcoming sense of community. If you're ever on White Rock's East Beach and are a fish 'n' chips lover, definitely check out Moby Dick's Restaurant and be ready to stand in line, it's worth it!

One of our last September weddings was with Connie & Craig and we couldn't have asked for a better day! We had lots of great shots around town with the wind gusting at hurricane force, it was a task in itself just to keep her veil under control! One of my favourite parts of the day was during the garter toss at the end of the night where Craig's little nephew wanted a piece of the action! While Craig was busy, he walked right over and with no shame, lifted up Connie's dress to get right in there with his uncle!! He stood there with a bewildered look on his face wondering why everyone was laughing so hard but then figured "OK, let's do it again!" and went right in for a second go at it! A great ending to a wonderful evening!

Well, here we are, wrapping up the final few weddings of the season and what a year it has been! Cheryl & Cam's wedding was held at the newly renovated, Terminal City Club in downtown Vancouver. We started the day with the portrait session to take advantage of the warm weather and start the day off with some fun! The day consisted of discussions about the Canucks (who were playing that day), striped socks and the meaning behind the big blue object at the new Convention Center (which we're still unsure of after a long and quirky conversation!). We got to meet little Luka through one of our good photographer friends, Melia Sorenson, and I'm so glad we did! Luka is your typical 18 month old, curious, energetic, playful and has little legs that take him EVERYWHERE!! It's such a fun age because as photographers, you have to learn how to connect with kids at any age and meet them on a level that excites them. I have so much fun with the kids that I hardly even realize that 2 hours has gone by and it's almost time for their nap! I'm sure I must look very silly to parents because when I'm on a shoot, I am more often than not right down in the dirt with them enjoying the world from their point of view. It's always very satisfying for me knowing that the kids are having fun but most of all being themselves, the way their parents know them. Although, it seems to be quite often that when it's photo time, new quirky smiles or funny giggles come out and parent's say "that's new!". I love it, every second of it and I always look forward to the next little person I'll get to meet!

A few months ago, we had the great privilege to go down to Puerto Vallarta and photograph Amanda & Mark's wedding. A few months later, Mark's brother and sister-in-law asked us to come and do a family session with their two little boys, Evan and Carter. We were so excited when we got the message because we had a little taste of them at the wedding and couldn't wait! We started off with little Evan who was full of surprises that day! When we got quite, as we normally do in our sessions, Evan began signing away in his crib while throwing us these cute little glances out of the corner of his eye! Love it! Then, when it came time to be with Carter, we were in for an adventure! We played Circus Masters as we gathered all of his stuffed toys around him and then went on a safari in his fort made from his bunk bed and blankets! I love it when the children start to play with you because that's when their real self comes out and that's the perfect moment!

One of the last weddings of the year for us was for the very wonderful, Marguerite & Dean. Starting at the Sutton Place Hotel in the morning and then off to the gorgeous Holy Rosery Cathedral for their wedding nuptials. With a little drizzle in the air, we headed back inside the Sutton Place to photograph a few more shots before the reception. I love this time of year when the sun goes down early and the city just glows with sparkling Christmas lights! The ambiance inside was the same, so warm with family and relatives wandering the golden-lit hallways sipping on their drink as the bubbles shimmer in the glass echoing the many twinkling lights all around the room. When it came time for the first dance we were treated to an unexpected Ode to 80's rock complete with flowing long blond hair and air guitar! Then, it was back to the traditional slow, side-to-side swaying of the dance- lots of fun to watch these two rock out!

We're very much looking forward to Sara & Phil's wedding next year! After spending an afternoon with these two, we realized how much fun they have together and I think that is the most important part! They laugh, they joke and seem to blend perfectly with each other. At the end of our shoot, we heard the roar of a vintage muscle car pulling into the parking lot. Phil's gaze was glued to the car and I thought, "how cool would that be to get a few pics with the car!" Just as I began to walk towards it, he peeled out into traffic with a monsterous growl of the engine and he was gone, nuts! As we were driving back, I spotted the car parked in a gravel lot and asked Jason to turn in. A it turns out, the owner was more than thrilled to have us take pictures of his "baby" with the bride and groom-to-be and kept offering to show us the best angles and of course we took him up on it! Phil and Sara posed with the beat of a car, whose engine was bigger than me, and I think that was the icing on the cake!

We love, love, love destination weddings! Jason and I are so honoured when a couple wants to bring us down to share with them in some of the most beautiful places on earth! We met Sandy & Pat last May, we instantly connected and what a lovely couple they are, so giving and a lot of fun to be around! The wedding ceremony took place on the beaches of Playa Del Carmen and then we were whisked away to a quaint local house turned restaurant for their own private beach party! It was amazing food and so cool to be right there on the beach with the music pumping away and the stars creating the most awe-inspiring backdrop! This place even had it's own swing bar where you get to sit on suspended seats will sipping your cocktails. We look forward to seeing everyone again at the home reception in May.

Vancouver Wedding Photography I 2 Awards At WPPI

As many photographers know, the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International association (WPPI), which we are apart of, has their annual convention coming up in Vegas, March 4th-11th. We attended last year and for anyone who is thinking of going, we highly recommend attending! We learned so much and are still going over the wealth of information we received!

Along with the convention, WPPI also has their annual print competitions in both the 8x10 and 16x24 categories. We've been waiting to submit our work until this past year and we were not disappointed! We won two Accolades of Excellence for two of our favorite images of the year! This means that we scored high on the association's rating scale of technical and artistic ability. We were very excited to receive our awards the other day and also must congratulate our couples in the winning images for without them, it wouldn't have happened! We also want to congratulate all of the other winners of the competition. It's always interesting to see the new things happening in our industry from people around the world!

Here's another cutie patootie for you! Little Miss B, along with Mom and Dad were an absolute pleasure to photograph! Little Miss B started off a little shy but then was right into it as soon as Mommy put on her fluffy white dress! Her wide eyes scrunched with excitement and she let out a squeal of glee as grabbed hold of her tu-tu and batted it up and down with joy! Once she was on the floor, off she went motoring around on her tummy. Funny how your past sometimes meets you in the future, I had actually gone to high school with her parents who were a few grades ahead of me and for the shoot I went to see them near the town I grew up in. It has been years since I've been there and so much had changed and yet the old things I remember were still there. Before I knew it, I had filled up 2 whole cards with so many big smiles and fun with Mr Teddy! Here's some of my favs from the session.

What a great start to 2010! With our engagement sessions underway, there will be lots to come this next month. We have been looking forward to starting the year and began with a great couple whom Jason used to work with back in his techy days. Jason had received a call from a former co-worker and when he told me about Clarissa I was looking forward to meeting her and Dan at the consultation. Clarissa just spent hours upon hours volunteering at our wonderful Olympics and we enjoyed her many stories about her experience. Like her, many of us were in a state of 'no time' as our lives went on hold for those two weeks and now, getting back to 'normal' life, the wedding bug has arisen once more and things are picking back up as spring is almost here!! Not to mention some very confused cherry trees who are more than a month early and are in full bloom!! I love this time of year, as you can see the light staying longer and the colour towards twilight has changed and has brought its warm glow.

Last week we had the Smith Family come in for a very special session at the Pacific Palisades Hotel in their retro penthouse suite! I've known Ian and Sharalee for a few years now and she had their first born, Rayah, just before Jason and I got married. That was actually one of the last times I saw the family. Now they have 3, count them, 3 VERY blond, blue-eyed, beautiful little girls and they are expecting their 4th ( count them...1,2,3,4!!!) little girl in a few months! Working with larger families is always fun for me because you can't really tell kids what to do, you sometimes just have to go with the flow and let their little legs runs around and have fun. We get a lot of great moments like that when everyone is just interacting with each other and having a good time! Here's a few of my favs and yes Sharalee, we were able to have Ella sit still long enough to get that cute little smile!!

Our second fab wedding of the back-to-back weekend was with the delightful Christine & Jordan. You may remember them from a few months ago when they brought along their adorable whippet/pit bull terrier, Tigger! She was looking at them all day and couldn't figure out why there were so many people in the house. It was the cutest thing when we caught a quick shot of her staring at Christine's wedding dress hanging in the window.

Later, we headed out to the North Shore for pictures beforehand and I was ecstatic- literally jumping up and down when we got to the park and saw the surreal weather conditions that we were going to get to enjoy. I was so glad they decided to do photos beforehand as the clouds burned off later in the day. Jason and I have been waiting for this all summer as shooting with the elements is one of our favourite things to do. Here's some stunning shots from earlier in the day. I could stare all day at the beautiful skies we get here in BC.

You may remember about a year ago a blog about a couple who met on E-Harmony, yup, that's right, the claims are true, you can find your match via the internet. We actually know of about 5 couples who somehow met online and are now either married or engaged! Justin is like a foot and a half taller, maybe more, than Christine and it's so cute to see her go up on her tip toes to give him a kiss! Their stature may be extremes but their hearts are the same, BIG!
Christina & Justin's day stared off with a beautiful ceremony at Hycroft followed up by a mountain top view at Capilano Golf & Country Club. I really wanted to highlight some of the great shots from the day's outdoor shoot. They got their model on and rocked that place up and down!

What an adventure this wedding was for me and Jason. When we heard that Amanda & Mark were going down to Mexico for their wedding, we were soooo excited! The day before we left, Jason and I had just finished a beautiful 14hr wedding and then had to fly out at 4am, which was only in a few hours. We managed to eventually make our way and arrived at the gorgeous 5-star resort, The Riu Vallarta in Puerto Nuevo. The wedding wasn't for a couple of days so Jason and I gladly slept in to get ready for their big day and to take a little adventure of our own (That story and pics coming soon, you won't want to miss it!) It was so beautiful the day of the wedding but EXTREMELY hot. So hot that we actually had to stop taking photos in order for everyone to get out of the heat for a little bit until it cooled down. By that time, the sun was making it's glorious descent and we caught some great shots and then explored the beautiful grounds of the resort. The ceremony was short and sweet and you can't beat a reception on the beach! Congrats Amanda & Mark!!

Vancouver Wedding Photography I Amanda & Ben Yaletown Glam

We had the pleasure of photographing Amanda & Ben a few weeks ago in some of the best places that our city has to offer! Their intimate ceremony was held at the Celebration Pavilion in QE Park and then headed to Yaletown for their outdoor shoot. The reception was at La Terazza where they have THE best pasta in town! Usually places and people are very weary when it comes to seeing a photographer with a big camera and allowing you to shoot in their space. Ben, with his super skills managed to get us into some of the most awesome places for their photos where in times past I had tired and got turned down. I guess it's harder to say NO to a gorgeous couple than it is to the photographer. Lesson learned! Here's some of the moments from their day. I think this is one of my favourites of the groom's face when he's seeing his beautiful bride for the first time!

Vancouver Wedding Photography I Troy & Monika I Vancouver Club

Last week was a wonderful back-to-back weekend of 2 gorgeous weddings with two gorgeous couples! The first one was Troy and Monika. Every bride dreams of planning her wedding and being involved in every little detail. Monika didn't get that chance 100% because she had been away abroad for most of the year finishing her education to become a doctor. While she was away, the amazingly talented Angela Girard of Reflection Events helped to make Monika's dream wedding come true! Her beautiful gown was made by a local designer, Kathryn Bass for Pure Something Co.. The ceremony was held at the Holy Rosary Cathedral downtown and then off to the Vancouver Club for the sparkling reception. My favourite part of the whole evening was seeing all the friends and family holding each other and dancing away the night. Troy and Monika were so happy and elated that watching them, I almost cried. It reminded me of my own wedding. Ahh, how time flies by.
